The G5 Processes

All the compelling narratives that have ever been designed to explain the Big Three Questions, have been answered

Why is there something rather than nothing?

Who are we?

What is the meaning of life?

Text Box: using one of just five fundamental types of processes. We call these “generative processes” because they explain the genesis of the entire cosmos. Each of these narratives appears at different times in history – so there is no need to think that this is an exhaustive list. Surely we will add to this list, as our knowledge grows. It is in this respect that ideas are what we call “epistemic tools” – since epistemology has to do with how we know or how we explain, rather than what we know. These five processes are: 1) Construction, 2) Development, 3) Evolution, 4) Emergence, 5) Autopoeitic Enaction.

Although each process tells a different story, and generates different structures, orders or forms of existence, as well as having a telos or drive, or fundamental imperative that is unique to each process, they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, as we will see, the 21st Century Leader must learn to identify where and when and which one is the primary driver, and where and when and which one to best engage as an attractive force.

The ability to align a particular process with the fundamental processes of the biosphere, and to synchronize with their unique teleological imperatives, is key to creating a self-sustaining, ever-advancing, boundlessly innovative, enterprise

The idea here, is like paddling a canoe to the sea, sailing with the prevailing winds, flying with the jet stream – you get the drift. Unlike other processes, these five generative processes are ever-present and mightier than all of us, humans and non-humans alike, in the same way that gravity is mightier than the planet.  Looking at it another way, we can say that these processes are expressions of all of us – at the next greater scale – in the same way that the planet’s position at any given time is its expression of gravity at the scale of the solar system. A central actors in our grand narratives, these processes are how we claim our highest view, when we occupy, our highest vantage point.

The ability to align a particular process with the fundamental  processes of the biosphere, and to synchronize with their unique teleological imperatives, is key to designing a self-sustaining, ever-advancing, boundlessly innovative enterprise.

Tensegrity applies to each of the 5 Generative Processes in different and specifiable ways. Each is a particular way the process demonstrates an apparent telos, drive or striving toward an ideal or perfect state.

Every story ever told about the origin of the universe, the nature of existence & the meaning of life, has been told from one of only 5 narratives.
